Running analysis is a comprehensive biomechanical evaluation that examines how you run to identify movement patterns associated with injury, pain, and reduced performance. At Movement Performance Institute (MPI), we use high-speed video and an instrumented treadmill to provide objective measurements of your running mechanics. Unlike visual observation alone, this technology allows us to quantify movement patterns that may contribute to excessive stress on the joints and soft tissues.

Many common running injuries, including patellofemoral pain (runner's knee), iliotibial (IT) band syndrome, shin splints, stress fractures, Achilles tendinopathy, and plantar fasciitis are influenced by running biomechanics. By identifying inefficient or compensatory movement patterns early, we can develop targeted strategies to reduce injury risk and improve performance.

Running Analysis MPI

During your evaluation, we assess key aspects of running mechanics, including joint motion, loading patterns, symmetry, and other biomechanical variables shown to influence running efficiency and injury risk. Following your assessment, you will receive a written report explaining your findings, along with individualized recommendations that may include gait retraining, therapeutic exercise, strength training, footwear guidance, or other interventions based on your specific needs.
