Injury Risk Screening

An Injury Risk Screening is a comprehensive biomechanical assessment designed to identify movement patterns that may increase an athlete's risk of future injury. By evaluating how your body moves before pain or injury develops, we can identify modifiable risk factors and recommend targeted strategies to help you train more safely and efficiently.

Injury Risk Screenings are appropriate for athletes of all ages and skill levels, active individuals beginning a new training program, and anyone with a history of recurring injuries who wants to reduce the likelihood of future injury.

Injury Risk Screening

Many sports injuries are influenced by a combination of training load, physical capacity, and movement mechanics. Our evaluation focuses on identifying biomechanical factors including movement quality, joint alignment, balance, strength deficits, landing mechanics, and asymmetrical movement patterns that may contribute to excessive stress on muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints.

Using video analysis, force plate technology, and a comprehensive clinical assessment, we evaluate functional movement patterns specific to your sport or activity. Following your evaluation, you will receive a written report explaining your findings, along with individualized recommendations that may include strength and conditioning exercises, movement retraining, and other strategies designed to reduce injury risk and improve performance.

Injury Risk Screening may benefit individuals who:

  • Are beginning a new sport, training program, or competitive season
  • Have a history of recurring injuries or overuse conditions
  • Participate in sports involving running, jumping, cutting, or pivoting
  • Want objective guidance to reduce injury risk and improve movement quality
  • Are seeking a proactive approach to long-term athletic health and performance

Injury Risk Screening

Using the same procedures as the Return to Sport Evaluation, we assess non-injured athletes to identify potential biomechanical risk factors that may expose one to future injury. The outcomes of the testing are used to develop an individualized training program aimed at mitigating injury risk and to improving athletic performance.
